SAFETY AT RANGELAND

At the forefront of Rangeland Truck and Crane daily operations, is our commitment to safety.

It is our priority to see that everyone returns home safe at the end of every day.

We are proud of our reputation as an industry leader in safety. But we recognize how important it is not to become complacent. Safety is an area that requires continuous attention and improvement.  We are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of workplace safety, quality and environmental protection. We are concerned with incident prevention and occupational health since they involve the health, safety and welfare of all employees. We are committed to working with our employees, families, clients, contractors, and communities to prevent all incidents and continuously improving upon our health and safety program while recognizing the rights of workers to work in a safe and healthy environment.

Incidents are often an indication of ineffective operations which can result not only in employee injuries, but property and equipment damage, production and schedule disruptions and a lack of service to our clients and partners. All levels of management and each employee shall therefore make incident control and occupational health and safety a priority.

Our strong safety culture is supported by a highly dedicated health and Safety department that continuously builds on and promotes a culture focused on modelling safe behaviors. Safety is a fundamental and integral part of everyday business. We provide the necessary training and development programs, protective equipment and tools for our professionals to perform their work to the highest safety standards. Every day our safety officer ensures that these standards are maintained consistently throughout our locations. But it is not their responsibility alone: it is a commitment from everyone working at Rangeland.

Managers, supervisors and employees are responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by:

  • Maintaining compliance with the emergency plans.

  • Identifying safety needs, hazards, risks, and their appropriate controls.

  • Supplying and reinforcing the use of safety and personal protective equipment, and ensuring all equipment is properly maintained and stored in accordance with regulatory requirements.

  • Providing means for the safe handling of hazardous substances and communicating the required controls to all affected staff.

  • Investigating hazardous conditions and incidents and developing corrective actions to prevent similar occurrences.

  • Providing training to staff as required and ensuring worker competency.

Each Rangeland employee has a responsibility to themselves and to the company for their personal safety and the safety of their fellow workers. They must observe and adhere to all safety rules and instructions relating to safe and efficient work habits. Rangeland Truck and Crane recognizes that all employees have the right, responsibility, and obligation to refuse work when unsafe conditions exist at Rangeland Truck and Crane locations or a customer site. The control and prevention of incidents will require dedicated participation of all employees, as well as continuous scrutiny by all managers and supervisors, for the program to be effective and successful.

The measure of this success will be reflected in lower incident frequency and severity rates. Improved employee morale, increased productivity, and ensuring everyone gets home safe every day.
