ROUTE SURVEYING

Route Surveying

A route survey serves to validate a proposed transportation route ensuring the safety of all personnel and the cargo being transported. Many times our clients require us to travel through difficult terrain with over-sized cargo. Hiring Rangeland to complete a full route study will provide the best possible assurance your over-dimensional or heavy cargo will arrive safely on site in a timely manner.

An experienced member of our team will physically drive the proposed route to identify the following:

·        Physical obstacles (Power lines, bridges, signs, vegetation, etc)

·        Insufficient turning radius

·        Parking areas

·        Railway crossings

·        Site access

·        Route improvements

·        Swept Path Analysis

·        Current construction and route conditions

Upon completion of the physical survey, our in-house engineers will compile the physical data into report detailing the following:

·        Recommended and maximum shipping envelopes

·        Route mapping

·        Regionally specific transport regulations

·        Utility and emergency stakeholders

·        Permit pre-submissions

·        Seasonal transportation restrictions

·        Estimated travel time

·        Trailer configurations

·        Pilot vehicle requirements

·        Convoy restrictions

·        Bridge engineering
